First, let me just say a big and rousing THANK YOU to all of you who contributed to the Midwest Pug Rescue. You guys really rock – I mean that. I know we only made a dent in the amount they needed but a dent is a dent, right?! Because only a few of you left me comments saying you contributed, you ALL can choose a photo off my Flickr page and I’ll print one up and ship it to you next week (after I get my shipment of photo mailers in.) Send me an email at heyjules.mwg(at)gmail(dot)com and let me know the name at the top of the photo (it will be something like “bird_07-1211-003“) and whether you want a 5×7 printed on an 8 x 10 sheet or a straight 8 x 10 photo. For those of you that linked to my site I’ll get a sheet of my magnets made up this weekend and get that to you so you can choose a photo magnet as well.

And now…on to other things!
While sitting at the lake the other evening a duck fight insued and one of the ducks ran right up the bank of the lake to where I was sitting to escape possible doom and probably maiming. I guess I looked less threatening than the ducks that were chasing him…who knows? Anyway, I got some good close-ups and this one, in particular, really quacked me up.
He was the most beautiful purple and green color. Not sure what kind of duck he is but wow…he sure was an irridescent little sucker!
In other news…there’s a photo book contest starting up. If you’ve ever thought about creating a self-published photo book there’s a contest with a grand prize of $25,000 that was just announced and it runs through July 14th and is sponsored by Blurb Book Self-Publishing.
